Are you looking for a cart that can perform
well both on tarmac as well as on rugged terrain? The BERG
X-plorer go-karts are truly versatile machines that can
be enjoyed practically anywhere. All models come equipped
with off-road tyres and an aerodynamic spoiler, and finely
engineered moving parts. The Xplorer XT-3 and Racing X-treme
even come with 3 gears! With a BERG Off-Road go-kart you’ll
have a car that will provide great enjoyment for many, many
years! The BERG X-plorer range of pedal go karts
comprises high-quality karts, available with two gearbox
options. The AF (Automatic Freewheel) gearbox selects the
forward or reverse gear automatically, depending on the
direction of pedalling from rest. The BF3 (Break Freewheel)
gearbox is similar to the AF gearbox, but includes an extra
braking function (brakes can be applied by back-pedalling)
and 3 gears (3 speeds forwards, 3 speeds reverse). Apart
from the gearbox differences, the difference between the
three versions (AF and BF-3) is the number of extra features,
such as roll-bar, mudguards, braking system etc. The Xplorer

Berg Pedal Car GEARBOXES: Most of our Berg
Cars have a code after the model name, such as BF3, or ZF.
This code describes the type of gearbox. ZF
means you have a lever-operated forward and reverse gear.
AF (Automatic Freewheel)
is like the ZF gearbox, except there is no gear lever -
the appropriate gear is selected automatically depending
on whether you start to pedal forwards or backwards from
rest. BF (Brake Freewheel)
is similar to the AF gearbox, however the brakes can be
applied by pedalling in reverse. The BF3
is a brake freewheel combined with a 3 Speed gearbox (3
speeds forwards, 3 speeds reverse). The BF5
and BF7 are like the BF3,
but with 5 and 7 gear speeds respectively.
